Kathryn Oberdorfer is an abstract painter. She lives and works in Denver Colorado and is affiliated with Spark Gallery, Denver's oldest contemporary cooperative gallery. She holds a BFA from the University of Denver.
____________________________________________________ Statement What intrigues me about abstract art is the problems it presents. It is much like putting the pieces of a puzzle together – arranging and rearranging elements until the composition comes together. I bring to my work a concern for color, shape and line, and their relationship to each other. My imagery is based on abstract forms found in natural settings - most recently, Denver's Botanic Gardens. The spontaneous character of my work reflects the energy I gather from my natural surroundings. |
